Sweet Baby George and Wild Man William

Davis and I took a quick trip to Nashville this weekend to visit my dear friend Jenny and her new baby, George. George is just precious. So small and snuggley. It seems unreal that Davis was that small just 5 months ago. He is already all over the place. As you can see from the pictures, Davis tried really hard to keep up with William while we were there. Here at home he keeps Emme and Jackson jumping, always after their toys and books. He crawled all over Jackson today trying to get a bag of skittles. Jenny and I had a great time visiting and talking baby talk. Davis felt right at home and to my surprise was able to stay on schedule and sleep well. He enjoyed playing with all Williams' toys and especially enjoyed playing with Mr. Rich. William or "Willie P" as I like to call him kept us entertained all weekend. He loves to say no in 100 different ways. When I went to get Davis up in the morning William was practicing saying no in his bed. I guess he was getting ready for the day. I must say I was amazed at how smart he is. He was able to play a game on Jenny's phone where he matched up letters to spell words....AMAZING!!!!! What a wonderful trip. I am looking forward to seeing the Pankow's again over the holidays.
Check back soon, I am sure I will have lots of good Trick Or Treating pics to post after this weekend. I am posting a couple of preview pictures of Pink Bat Girl and Red Storm Trooper.
And here are two more that I think are precious.

Goodnight!

Why Does This Not Surprise Me?

I broke out the pack and play for Davis this week. I needed a safe contained environment for him to play away from all the small toys. Here are a few pictures of him enjoying his new play space. He has lots of company.

He kept looking at me as if to say, "are you really just standing there taking pictures while they are doing this to me?"

In this last picture Emme was playing big family (big family-the kids are the family members, little family-they use dolls as the family members) and putting him to bed. The cups on his head were a spur of the moment gesture from her before I snapped this picture. I am glad he is so laid back. He has a lifetime of this kind of treatment ahead of him.

Alot Can Happen in a Month

So, it has been a month since I last posted. It has been a busy month in our house as always. The kids are officially in the swing of things. Our days are filled with school, dance, gymnastics, and soccer. We have been peddeling magazines for the last couple of weeks and both of my children have met their goals and will get to choose prizes. Mind you, they have no idea why they are getting prizes. Jackson just tells me that some one showed him which color to choose from. I think they should give prizes to the mama who doesn't have time to look at one magazine let alone the 4 she had to purchase to make sure both children met the goal to get a prize.
Well enough about magazines. Now that we are back in school the birthday parties are in full swing. We went to a party for one of Emme's classmates this past weekend at the museum. The kids all got to make something out of clay. Here is a picture of Emme's creation. I think Lee and I are going to put it on our neighbors porch, ring the doorbell and hide in the bushes.

I think they will really love the umbrella sculpture. Of course it is an umbrella, what did you think it was?

I also got a new camera lenz for my birthday. I love it. I will post a few pictures I have taken with it below. We got some really goods ones of Jackson playing soccer.

Last but not least, Davis started crawling today!!!!! I really need to get around to putting all the big kid toys upstairs. I have some major motivation now.

Goodnight!

A Day of Firsts

We have celebrated a few first time events today. Emme had her first day of Kindergarden and Jackson had his first day of 4K. It can't be!!!!

They both loved school. Emme has Mrs. Williams and Jackson has Mrs Castle. Emme's favorite thing about today was playing on the playground. Jackson's favorite thing was celebrating a classmates birthday by eating cookies and drinking a juice box. Oh the simple joys of childhood.

We almost had a fight in the car because Emme was messing up Jackson's hair. He wanted to make sure he looked SHARP on his first day.

I had to take a little trip down memory lane with this one. Just 2 and 1/2 short years ago.

To top the day of firsts off, Davis sat in his big
boy chair for dinner tonight. He is such a little chunker. Lee weighed him tonight and he weighs 20 lbs at 5 1/2 months. Emme weighed just 19 lbs at 12 months.
I know it won't be long before I am sending him off to school with his big brother and sister.

Hopefully our second day will be as good as the first. It is so nice to put the kids down for bed and not have them get up 10 times before actually going to bed. School really wears these kids out. Goodnight!!!

Birthday Girl and Beach Babies

So, of course it has been forever since I posted last. Things have been pretty busy around here. At least for me they have been. We recently celebrated Emme's 6th Birthday!!!! We were at the beach for her actual birthday so she and Jackson got to eat cupcakes for breakfast. What a treat. I am pretty sure this was the highlight of the entire trip. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Jackson is getting in some practice for later in life.

You are sending me where??????

Em and Jackson couldn't let Davis have all the fun!

When we got home from the beach we had a pool party to celebrate with Emme's friends. We had a good turnout and everyone made it through in one piece. We hired a lifeguard so Lee and I could enjoy ourselves a little more and Emme wanted to know "what if no one drowns? Then the lifeguard won't have anything to do." I took the opportunity to teach Emme that there are some jobs where having "nothing to do" is a good thing.

I'll end this post with a few recent pictures of Davis. He is getting so big. He likes his jumpy seat that hangs from the door. I am also waiting to see some teeth pop through. He has been drooling like crazy and chewing on anything he can get his hands on.

Look at those ears!

I'm a huntin' ducks!!

Sweet Babies!!

Mom, why do you let Jackson do these things to me?

We start back to school on Thursday. So check back. I should have some first day pictures up soon.

The War in my Fridge

Why am I the last to know when there is a war in my fridge? This is a picture of what I found tonight when I went to get some milk.

I hope they take their bubba teeth with them when the war is over.

Davis has hit a major milestone this month. On July 5th he began rolling from his back to his stomach. I have a feeling there will be no stopping him now.

Aside from the war and rolling over not much is going on in the Whelchel household. The kids have discovered the dollar store and would like to go there everyday (thanks Emily). We are just hanging in there until school starts back, which by the way is only 4 weeks away. I can't believe both Jackson and Emme will be in school this year. At least I will have Davis at home to keep me busy in the mornings.

Here are a few more recent pics. Take Care!
